Rent a big bedroom in Santa Tereza with great view, for all over Rio de Janeiro, in a good localization( Almirante Alexandrino Street).
You can wash and cook.
I've converted my living room into a small bedroom where you'll have all privacy and everything you'll need - TV, stereo, a comfortable sofa-bed and wireless internet. You'll also have full access to the kitchen, a bathroom with cold and hot shower and all other furniture available.
The apartment is located in a beautiful, old fashioned street in Santa Teresa, 15 minutes away by foot from the subway station. There's also a bus stop right in front of the building where you can take a bus or the tram to center of the city. There's also lots of restaurants and bars nearby that you can go walking while enjoying the beautiful view of Rio de Janeiro and the Guanabara Bay.

The apt is in an excellent neighborhood in Posto 6 in Copacabana. The building features a 24-hour doorman and multiple elevators. There is also a 24-hour bar/restaurant on the block, which the police frequent often, making it a safe area at all hours. Walk right out the entrance of the building, and you will see the Ipanema Fort that divides Copacabana and Ipanema! You'll have your choice of beach... Copacabana is right in front of you, or you can walk 10 minutes to Ipanema Beach. Either way you cannot ask for a better location in Rio! Banks with foreign ATM capabilities are 2 blocks away, police station 2 blocks away, many restaurants and bars within 2 blocks. Ipanema's lively bars as well as the Hippie Fair every Sunday are just a 10 minute walk from the apartment! Each Sunday there is also a fruit & vegetable fair on the street next to the building, and the entire length of Ave Atlantica is closed to car traffic, it's just beachgoers and families enjoying themselves. Come down to Rio and get out of the cold, it's summer here!
